This town house was designed in 1922 by the Brussels architect René Notéris for Jean Vander Elst; the City of Leuven granted the building permit on 18 December 1922. It is a wide house of three bays with a basement and two storeys under a slate mansard roof, its facade combining white natural stone, red granite for the plinth and yellow and red brick on the upper floor. Three-sided oriels, a wide central loggia and wrought ironwork with stylised flowers characterise it. According to the inventory, it is the only example in pure Art Deco style among the town houses of Leuven's inner city; it is a protected monument and now houses offices.
