Art Deco villa designed in 1933 by the architects Vincent Cols and Jules De Roeck for R. Van Dieren and built in 1934. It is the most recent of at least seven country houses their firm built in the interwar years in the "Den Brandt" park district. Freestanding at the back of its plot on an almost square plan of three by three bays, it has two storeys under a widely overhanging hipped roof with dormers; the facing is yellow Belvédère-type brick with so-called "Dudok" pointing, with white stone for the surrounds, plinth and sills, and steel window frames. The round-arched porch framed by fluted Ionic pilasters marks the axis of the front, flanked on the right by stacked three-sided bay windows. The steel joinery of the door and windows survives, as does the wrought iron of the fanlight and the grilles; the villa is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
