Art Deco villa designed in 1933 by the architect Joan Coninck Westenberg for Albert Troeder, who had worked for the Minerva factory. The inventory places it, together with the Freedman house of 1932 in the Wilgenlaan, among the architect's later works in the "Den Brandt" park district, representative of an oeuvre balanced between tradition and modernity. Freestanding at the back of its plot, on an almost square plan of two by four bays, it has two storeys under a complex hipped roof; it is built in red brick, with white stone for the porch, bush-hammered exposed concrete for the lintels and red tiles. According to the inventory, the design illustrates the influence of contemporary Dutch architecture, notably of Willem Marinus Dudok and Jan Wils, and through them of Frank Lloyd Wright, seen in the sober use of brick and the sculptural massing with strong horizontal lines set by the broad roof overhang. The wooden joinery of the door and windows survives; the villa is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
