Art Deco town house or apartment house built for F. Kalkema to a 1927 design by the architect Raymond Ceurvorst; it is an early work, which the inventory characterises, like his first buildings, by a rather conventional façade composition combined with discreet Art Deco ornament. Terraced, of three bays, it has three storeys under a flat roof, with a sober cornice façade of yellow brick in cross bond, natural stone and bluestone being used for the plinth, sills, bands, balcony and crowning. Divided by the ground-floor string course, the symmetrical composition stresses the central projection, marked by a balcony with a wrought-iron railing and a stepped crowning. Spiral motifs characterise both the carved decoration and the ironwork, and the wooden joinery of the door and windows survives; according to the plans, the second floor was probably a rental flat. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
