Apartment building with a shop, built for Edmond Marckx to a design by the architect Raymond Ceurvorst (1926); an early work, it combines a fairly conventional façade composition with discreet Art Deco ornament. The cornice façade of two unequal bays, clad in imitation stone, has four storeys under a slate pseudo-mansard; the wide side bay is marked by a bow window over two storeys topped by a balcony. The Art Deco style shows in the fluting and in the reliefs of flower baskets and tropical birds on the parapets, piers and frieze; the shopfront has been renewed, keeping its divisions.
