Town house in a sober Art Deco style that the architect Léon Heutz built for himself to a 1927 design; a first façade design was rejected on aesthetic grounds and its proportions were revised. This modest terraced house was the first to be built on the newly laid-out Doornelei. Of two unequal bays, it has a basement and two storeys under a flat roof; the cornice façade of red brick in cross bond, generously combined with natural stone for bands and surrounds, stands on a bluestone plinth, and its asymmetrical composition accentuates the side bay, crowned by a curved pseudo-pediment on corbels forming part of the wooden cornice. The door and windows are set in round-arched pilaster strips with drip mouldings; the door tympanum is filled with a typical flower basket and panels with a stylised Art Deco medallion decorate the upper-floor breastwork. Except for the garage door, the wooden joinery of the door and windows, including the leaded glass, survives; on the upper floor, the central hall with a skylight housed the architect's office according to the plans. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
