Apartment building built for Jacques Van Es to a design by the architect Joseph Selis (1937), representative of his moderately progressive late inter-war work, midway between Art Deco and modernism. The three-bay, three-storey cornice façade, in red brick, with the ground floor faced in bluestone to half height and a natural-stone upper section, is symmetrical and dominated by a tall stone bow window adjoining the balcony of the bel-étage. Strongly profiled mouldings and alternating rectangular and round-arched openings characterise it; the varnished wooden round-arched door and the Art Deco ironwork of the grilles and balcony railing survive.
