Maison de rapport Art déco, boulevard de Smet de Naeyer 529

Art Deco house divided into flats, of asymmetrical composition, signed and dated 1930 on the plinth by the architect Camille Breeus. The red brick façade, enhanced with Euville white stone and bluestone, stands on a pink sandstone plinth. A two-storey polygonal projection, with polygonal colonnettes bearing scrolled capitals, carries a terrace with a wrought-iron railing. The recessed porch is topped by a polygonal panel with a bas-relief of an overflowing flower basket, and its walls are lined with red, green and black ceramic tiles incorporating a mask; the dormer, cornice, door and front garden railing have been preserved. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
