Pair of identical Art Deco town houses, built after a 1924 design by the architect Jef Huygh: no. 120 for Michel Hendrickx, no. 122 on Huygh's own account, for sale or rent; no. 122 has served as the presbytery of the parish of Saint Louis de Montfort since at least 1990. It is one of Huygh's first works as an independent architect; the inventory describes his personal, expressive Art Deco, drawing on the Amsterdam School, German Jugendstil and the Vienna Secession, and describes these strongly linear houses as typical of his designs of the 1920s. Built over cellars, of three storeys under a tall pseudo-mansard with three chevron-topped dormers, they have façades of red hand-moulded brick on a pink terrazzo plinth, divided into three bays by tall party walls and rising ribs; the bay window, parapets and gable are in imitation stone. The symmetrical façade is dominated by the entrance bay, which continues into the mansard up to a chevron gable between pedestals, with a recessed porch under a projecting bay window, while low-relief flower baskets decorate the parapets of the upper floor. The façades were renovated in 2009 and the brickwork of no. 120 painted over; the double wooden front doors survive at both houses, as do original windows at no. 120. The houses are recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
