Maison Embrechts — Anvers

Semi-detached Art Deco multi-family house designed in 1932 by Jos Sels-Vermeiren for F. Embrechts; the approved design was altered during construction. The three-storey façade with cornice, in brown brick generously combined with white natural stone on a bluestone plinth, carries geometric Art Deco decoration: fluted planes, blocky spiral motifs and a trapezoidal bay window rising over two storeys. The original joinery, leaded glass and wrought iron appear to survive. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
