Maison Art déco, Jozef Verbovenlei 15 — Anvers

Semi-detached house in a sober Art Deco style, built for L. De Ridder, probably to a 1935 design by Simon Pièret, and extended around 1937 by Ernest Siems, in Deurne. The box-like volume, with strongly marked horizontal lines, combines brown brick facing with bands and string courses in imitation stone, with a trapezoidal bay window on the street side and the entrance in the side façade. The original joinery and the wrought iron with stylised vase motifs survive. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
