Maison Art déco, Basseliersstraat 82 — Anvers

Art Deco house built for Florimond Ruttijn to a 1937 design by architect A. Van Rijsbergen, in Deurne. The two-storey brown-brick façade on a high bluestone base stands out for its sober, rhythmic composition of varied openings: a round-arched door and window on the ground floor, a porthole and a three-sided bay window upstairs. The wooden window frames and the glazed front door with simple wrought iron survive. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
