Apartment building in a sober, functional ("zakelijk") Art Deco style, erected for the physician J. Notteau to a 1933 design by the architect Joan Coninck Westenberg. On the corner of Haringrodestraat and Lamorinièrestraat, it combines two units around a shared inner garden, each with a caretaker's flat, giving 24 flats of rather modest standing, probably intended for letting. According to the inventory, the design illustrates, like the Troeder villa of the same year, the influence of contemporary Dutch architecture, notably of Willem Marinus Dudok and Jan Wils. On a reinforced-concrete frame, the massive block of four by seven bays has a basement, six storeys and an attic under a flat roof; the red-brick façades with recessed bed joints contrast with the slightly set-back corner section and attic faced with white stone, which provide a vertical accent. Drip mouldings and broad wooden cornices stress the horizontal lines, and stacked rectangular bay windows punctuate the façades; the steel window frames and wrought-iron entrance doors have been renewed, and the building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
