Villa Art déco, Oosterveldlaan 8 — Anvers

Villa in a sober Art Deco style with cottage-style features, designed in 1926 by the architect duo Vincent Cols and Jules De Roeck for the sack merchant Raymond Stayaert. The brick façades, originally unpainted, play on decorative chequerboard bonds and projecting courses of flat bricks; the front façade has three unequal bays stepping back in turn, the narrowest crowned by a gable finished with pebbles. The raised, canopied porch, with its door in a stepped brick surround, retains its original studded wooden door.
