Villa de l'architecte Vincent Cols — Anvers

Art Deco villa designed in 1922 by architects Vincent Cols and Jules De Roeck as Vincent Cols's own private residence, in the Nieuw-Park "Den Brandt" garden district. A modern interpretation of the traditional cottage, apparently inspired above all by contemporary English country houses, it combines a robust red brick massing, dominated by a steep roof and tall chimneys, with discreet Art Deco ornament such as the carved shoulder pieces of the gable. In 1941 a new owner, Fernand Van Hauwaert, had the interior remodelled by architect Henri Jespers.
