This house was designed in 1928 by Eduard Van Steenbergen for Victor Van den Berghe, director of the Antwerp municipal libraries, who wrote the first monograph on the architect in 1955. The inventory describes it as a brick building in the Nieuwe Zakelijkheid style, also catalogued under Art Deco, on an L-shaped plan, with two identical upper floors let separately. The oriels with their angular, broken lines conceal the skewness of the facade imposed by the shape of the plot; the interior retains furniture designed by Van Steenbergen. The house has been a protected monument since 1995.
