Memorial to Adelbert Kennis (1854-1924), co-founder and chairman of the Unitas garden suburb cooperative, erected by the cooperative on the square named after him and unveiled on 15 July 1928. It was designed by the suburb's architect, Eduard Van Steenbergen; the bronze portrait medallion of Kennis is by Albert Poels. The inventory describes it as an elongated, strictly designed Art Deco memorial: a low plinth over seven metres long in white artificial stone on a rendered brick base, with a built-in flower box and, in the centre, an upright panel bearing the medallion. The inscription "ADELBERT KENNIS – STICHTER VOORZITTER S.V. UNITAS TUINWIJK" is in applied carved letters in characteristic Art Deco typography. The memorial stands at the centre of the protected townscape of the Unitas garden suburb.
