Multi-family house built for Floris Seidel after a 1927 design by the architect Léon Stynen and, according to the permit file, erected in 1928. It belongs to Stynen's very earliest work and was designed, according to the inventory, in a matter-of-fact Art Deco style ("zakelijke art-decostijl") under the influence of the Amsterdam School, visible in the detailing and brickwork of the façade. Seidel and Stynen then lived a few houses apart on Provinciestraat. The composition of this typical brick building, alternating upright and horizontal brickwork, rests on brick arches, window mullions and the suggestion of a slate roof storey; the front door with wrought ironwork and the iron garden railing from the time of construction survive. It contains the client's dwelling, on the ground and second floors, and a rental flat on the first floor. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
