Maison de rapport Art déco, rue Laneau 86

Art Deco apartment house designed in 1931 by the architect Julien Roggen, whose signature appears on the plinth. The symmetrical four-storey façade combines textured artificial blue stone, white artificial stone and orange brick, with a projecting bay on the upper floors pierced on each level by three twin windows. The reveals are treated as fluted colonnettes with spherical finials, set among geometric projecting planes and panels, some with stylised plant decoration. The metal door with its floral wrought-iron grille survives, as do the marble fireplaces and the interior doors with geometric glazed openings. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
