Art Deco town house built for the widow Staes-Lanthier to a 1925 design by the architects Jan Vanhoenacker, John Van Beurden and Jos Smolderen; this project replaced Raymond Ceurvorst's 1922 plan for two mirror-image houses, only half of which was built. Terraced, with a two-bay natural-stone cornice façade, it has a basement, two storeys and a slate pseudo-mansard; a further storey was later added at the rear. The wide side bay with a triple window continues into a dormer with a curved drip moulding, and a bow window accentuates the upper floor; the facing is discreetly decorated with coffers, mouldings and medallions in a floral Art Deco, and the door sits beneath a robust entablature with a three-part transom. Of the joinery only the varnished wooden door survives, and the front-garden railing was removed, except for one segment, when the basement was converted into a garage. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
