A memorial completed and inaugurated in 1937 to plans by the Antwerp architect Joseph Smolderen, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1914-1918 war and later also to those of the Second World War. A votive tower in concrete faced with limestone, Art Deco in tendency, 75 metres high and capped by a cylindrical crown with successive setbacks, dominates the Cointe hill. A broad staircase links it to an esplanade lined with monuments donated by the allied countries. The memorial is listed, together with the neighbouring Sacred Heart church.
