Art Deco office and apartment building erected for the sworn weighers' and measurers' nation "De Trouw" to a 1932 design by Jos Smolderen; it replaced the nation's first building, which had to make way for the works connected with the Waasland tunnel. The programme comprised a shop and a café on the ground floor, the company's offices on the first floor and two apartments per floor from the second to the fourth. The facade combines a bush-hammered granite base, opened up with shopfronts, doorways and wide office windows and bearing the inscription "SAMe MAATSCHAPPIJ : DE TROUW : SOCte COOPERATIVE", with upper floors in wine-red brick, centred on two bays marked by stacked three-sided oriels and crowned by a stepped attic.
