Immeuble à appartements, rue du Zodiaque 43-45

This Art Deco apartment building was designed for the contractor Marcel Rarts, who signed its façade, to plans by the architect François Van Meulecom dated 1928. Its brown-brick façade, enhanced with bluestone and white imitation stone, rises four and a half storeys. On the ground floor, a garage door, a central window and a recessed porch open under round arches; above, a two-bay oriel rises through three storeys, and the top storey is pierced by two ribbon windows. The joinery survives, and a 1925 workshop by the same architect, raised in 1928, occupies the back of the plot.
