Bluestone memorial fountain dedicated to the composer Peter Benoit (1834-1901), designed in 1933 by Henry Van de Velde and unveiled in 1934 on the square in front of the Flemish Opera on the Frankrijklei. The inventory regards it as an interwar sculpture in a sober Art Deco style. It consists of a wall bearing, in low-relief lettering, the composer's name and his years of birth and death, a lyre carved by Oscar Jespers from which water flows into a basin, and a long front wall inscribed with the titles of his principal works. Because of increasing traffic on the Frankrijklei, it was dismantled in 1953 and moved to the park in front of the Harmonie festival hall. It has been a protected monument since 1997.
