Art Deco apartment building erected for Meilech Geldzähler, a diamond dealer of Polish-Jewish origin, to a design by the architect David Moëd dated 1935 by the façade inscription. It contains seven flats and belongs to a group of some fifteen high-rise blocks built in the later interwar years around the Stadspark or in its immediate vicinity. On a reinforced-concrete frame, the symmetrical façade of two bays and seven storeys under a flat roof combines white stone and red brick on a bluestone plinth; treated over its full height as a three-sided bay, it is articulated by horizontal registers. The window joinery has largely been renewed, but the Art Deco wrought ironwork of the entrance door, window parapets and cellar grilles survives, as do the panelling and three-coloured marble floor of the entrance hall. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
