Large town house in a sober Art Deco style, built for Jean-Philippe Mahieu to a 1933 design by the architect Edouard De Winter, whose name is inscribed on the ground floor; the work was carried out by the contractor Flor. Avonts of Hemiksem. Of two unequal bays and three storeys under a flat roof, it has a cornice façade of red-brown brick over a ground floor of white Brauvilliers stone. The wide window bay, slightly projecting, forms a continuous vertical register faced with white stone, with a slightly curved bay window on the first floor and ornamental Art Deco details in the window breasts. The almost entirely preserved interior has a rich variety of wall and floor faience tiles, probably supplied by the Manufactures Céramiques d'Hemixem where the client worked, as well as Art Deco marble fireplaces. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
