Apartment building in a sober, functional ("zakelijk") Art Deco style, built in 1935 for Maria-Clementina Gijselings to a design by the architect Karel E. Mattheussen of Wommelgem, about whom little is yet known according to the inventory. The façade of two bays and four storeys is finished in light-coloured materials: the ground floor is clad in white Volotte stone on a low bluestone plinth, with a projecting entrance bay with a moulded surround and rusticated decoration, and a broad three-sided bay window set into the façade plane. The upper floors form a full-width rising bay with rounded corners, clad in the same white stone, the rest of the facing being cream brick with "Dudok" pointing; the flat roof is topped by black glazed copings above a bent stone drip moulding. The joinery has been renewed while keeping the original glazing bars of the bay, and the bronze inscription "MATTHEUSSEN arch." survives above the door; the building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
