Described as a 'prototype of Brussels Art Deco', Forest's municipal hall illustrates the role of public architecture in spreading the style. Designed by Jean-Baptiste Dewin, with studies from 1925 and plans approved in 1931, it was built from 19 May 1935 to 9 July 1938. The facades combine orange brick and blue stone, and the asymmetrically placed tower carries large gilded copper statues by Jacques Marin and Marnix d'Haveloose. The exterior, interior and furniture have been listed since 22 October 1992.
