Art Deco social housing block with a commercial ground floor, designed in 1921 by the architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin for the Foyer Laekenois; it belongs to the large complex of 254 dwellings in the block bounded by Rue du Siphon, Rue de Ter Plast and Rue Alfred Stevens, renovated in 1980-1982 by Ph. Samyn and M. Vanden Bossche. The façade in orange brick, enhanced with tinted cement, white stone and bluestone, rises four storeys under a flat roof on either side of a canted corner bay. The side bays end in through-dormers with arched crowns between pilasters and geometric stone finials, and the ground floor opens with triple shop windows under wooden cornices with modillions, which survive. The building is recorded in the statutory inventory.
