On the corner of Place Princesse Élisabeth, this former Art Deco travellers' hotel is the work of the architect Joseph Diongre: planned around 1913, it was only actually built from 1924 and opened as the Grand Hôtel Moderne. The five-storey imitation-stone elevation has a first floor corbelled out on brackets, monumental pilasters and a corner bay crowned by the inscription "ZOLA" in Art Deco lettering. The ground floor, originally a restaurant, was altered in 1951; the building is now an apartment block.
