Maison de rapport Art déco, rue du Disque 49

Asymmetrical Art Deco house of flats designed by the architect A. Van Gompel, whose signature and the date 1933 appear on the entrance canopy. The façade, in leather-coloured brick with emphasised horizontal joints, partly in upright bricks and enhanced with bluestone, is marked by a two-storey rectangular projection pierced by trapezoidal windows with colonnette mullions. The recessed entrance porch, with curved and stepped walls, is covered by a flat stone canopy topped by a small metal lantern. Continuous stone bands and small superimposed slabs enliven the elevation, crowned by an open-work attic wall; the glazed metal door and the front-garden enclosure have been preserved. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
