Pair of Art Deco apartment buildings influenced by the Amsterdam School, signed and dated 1933 on the base of no. 118 by the architect Jos Bal, who built no. 192-194 avenue Voltaire for himself. Set on a curved plan, the two four-storey buildings beneath flat roofs share a continuous façade in brown and yellow brick, enhanced with white stone and white imitation stone. The corbelled upper floors, linked by a vertical decorative frieze, end in curved balconies; the parapets have ball finials. At no. 118 the triple entrance is flanked on each side by three stacked portholes with convex glazing; the attic storey, intended for an "orangery", has recently been enlarged. The original doors with flat-iron grilles and the ironwork survive; the ensemble is recorded in the inventory.
