Art Deco apartment building designed in 1928 by the architect François Dens for August Broeckx en C°, on the corner of Karel Oomsstraat, and built by the contractor P. Lecluyse & Zonen on a reinforced concrete frame (Hennebique system). The imposing eight-storey building under a pseudo-mansard roof, the mansard having been added during construction, is articulated by alternately three-sided and two-sided oriels and by two corner projections crowned with chevrons on spiral ornaments. The wrought-iron railings show a repetitive geometric Art Deco pattern, repeated in the leaves of the private entrance door. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
