Around 1926, C. Schroeyers, an investor from Lier, had this small apartment house built in the Transvaalstraat to a design by François Dens. For this modest building the architect chose a simple Art Deco style: two bays, three storeys, a bluestone plinth and a projecting wooden cornice on modillons. A three-sided oriel links the floors, and the door, set in a wide stepped bluestone surround, features wrought ironwork with floral Art Deco motifs. The building was divided into three apartments, each with an enfilade of three rooms. It stands in the Zurenborg district, which is protected as an urban landscape.
