Apartment building with a café on the corner of Van den Nestlei and Provinciestraat, built for Jules G. Van Dyck to a design by the architect Ferdinand Van Mierlo (1927, façade inscription) and completed in 1928. This seven-bay, five-storey corner building on a reinforced-concrete frame received a façade entirely in natural stone, symmetrical, alternating corner projections and intermediate bays under a toothed crowning; the slightly taller corner is marked by three-sided oriels rising to a crowning balcony. The strongly vertical upper floors, between giant pilasters and lesenes, carry fluted profiles, friezes, dentil courses and repetitive parapet decoration typical of Art Deco.
