Art Deco apartment building constructed for J. Cassiers and son to a 1925 design by the architect Edward Van Not; it belongs to a group of Art Deco apartment buildings that Van Not designed between 1922 and 1927 in the block formed by Plantin en Moretuslei, Van den Nestlei and Baron Joostensstraat. The asymmetrical six-storey façade under a mock mansard, in white natural stone on a bluestone plinth, is articulated by giant pilasters and pediments, with a bow window over four storeys crowned by a balcony. Its Art Deco character shows above all in the stepped trapezoidal doorway, the geometric profiles, the floral consoles and the ironwork; the entrance hall keeps its Art Deco pilasters on a marble plinth and its yellow terrazzo floor with a marble mosaic border. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
