Villa in the Art Deco style built in Wilrijk for Leo Van Dyck to a 1928 design (façade inscription) by the architect Ferdinand Van Mierlo, within a homogeneous group of large country houses on Berkenlaan (nos. 19 to 33). On a base entirely of natural stone with a bluestone plinth, the red-brick villa under a complex hipped roof is strongly marked horizontally by the string course and the wide projecting cornice; simple gables emphasise the wide main bay of the front, garden and south side façades. Van Mierlo's typical Art Deco-derived decoration — scrollwork, volutes, bead mouldings and fluting carved in relief — is concentrated around the round-arched entrance and the oriels. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
