Villa in the Art Deco style built in Wilrijk for Frans Verhaegen to a 1937 design by the architect Ernest Nagels, within a homogeneous group of large country houses on Berkenlaan (nos. 19 to 33). Set back on a three-by-three-bay plan under a mansard roof, it is faced with smooth brick ranging from yellow to ochre; the recessed entrance portal is decorated with chevron and foliage panels and a keystone in the shape of a pineapple. Angled or stepped drip mouldings, corner windows, an integrated flower box and Art Deco ironwork on the grilles, porch lamp and front gate, all preserved, characterise it. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
