Town house in a sober Art Deco style on the corner of Berkenlaan and Acacialaan in Wilrijk, built for Jeanne Terlinck to a design by the architect Jan Jacobs (1925); its restrained brick expressionism shows the influence of the Amsterdam School. The façades of two and four bays, on two storeys under a complex hipped roof, are of red brick in cross bond enlivened by brick-on-edge courses, stepped profiles and brick tumbling, on a bluestone plinth. The asymmetrical composition plays with volumes: an oriel and porch under a continuous canopy, a discreet bow window on the side elevation, an undulating terrace screen and a tall polygonal chimney; the wrought-iron front garden railing survives.
