Standing alone in its enclosed garden, the villa La Jonquière was built in 1926 for the director of the neighbouring tannery; it is signed “Paul Hamesse Frères” on one of the piers of the street fence. Regionalist in spirit with a touch of Art Deco, it has a cubic volume under a tall hipped roof with gabled dormers, above a lower slope of small tiles with sprocketed eaves. Its rendered and painted facades are enlivened with brick and sandstone, with arched or canted-corner windows and a flight of steps before the main entrance. The decoration includes spheres and low-relief motifs. It is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
