Founded in 1865 by the burgomaster Ch. Duchatelet, the former boys' school, which became the State secondary school (École moyenne de l'État), was rebuilt in 1931; it now houses “Le Trèfle”, a special-needs secondary school of the French Community. This large U-shaped complex, set around a tree-lined courtyard closed by a railing on a low wall, is described by the inventory as Regionalist in spirit, tinged with Art Deco. It is characterised by its interplay of hipped and half-hipped roofs topped with small bell turrets. Its facades are enlivened by canted sections, friezes of bricks laid on edge, arched doors under archivolts and windows set between limestone bands; some original window frames survive, as does the old metal fire escape on the side facade. It is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
