Art Deco villa in Wilrijk, built to a 1925 design by the architects Hippoliet and Jules De Vos, the latter formally submitting the permit application, for Vital Verdun, managing director of the Antwerpsche Maatschappij van Goedkoope Woningen. The De Vos brothers, active in the Antwerp area between the wars, built among other things the Garden City Elsdonk. Set in the middle of its plot, the two-storey villa over a basement, under slate hipped and mansard roofs, is characterised by the sculptural relief of its bay windows, projections and dormers; the brickwork, now painted white, is set off with imitation stone (Terra Nova) and rows of bricks projecting straight or at an angle. The projecting central bay has a five-sided bay window topped by a balcony whose wrought iron, with spirals inscribed in squares, repeats a motif from the plans, and the joinery with decorative stained glass on the front and side façades survives. The villa is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
