Severely damaged by bombing during the First World War, this house was the subject in 1924 of a first reconstruction project in the classical style, drawn up by the architects Paul Dupuis and Albert Picy, which was rejected. Of the two projects these architects submitted in 1926, the one inspired by ancient architecture was built; work began around 1926 and was completed in 1929, with the masonry entrusted to Oscar Vandecasteele and the ironwork to the Arras contractor Edouard Delamotte. Designed to house a dental clinic on the ground floor, an activity that has since ceased, the stone house has an entrance approached by pyramidal steps, framed by uprights suggesting engaged columns with striated capitals and crowned by a baseless pediment with an oculus. The frieze and the cartouches below the cornice carry foliage with curving lines, and the wrought-iron railings of the side windows combine squares and spirals. According to the French heritage inventory, the composite architecture of this façade is characteristic of the reinterpretations of classical architecture carried out by Art Deco.
