The commercial building that stood on this site, damaged by bombing during the First World War, was repaired shortly after the war; subject to a street-alignment order in 1923, it was then reportedly expropriated by the town and demolished. A building permit dates its reconstruction to 1931. Built of concrete on the corner of rue Désiré-Delansorne and rue Ernestale, the building has three storeys and two bays on each side of the façade; the bay on rue Désiré-Delansorne projects slightly and has moulded outlines. According to the Inventory, it is characteristic of the Art Deco style in a very geometric strand, as shown by the pyramidal garlands issuing from the cornice, the ceramic cartouches with diamond motifs on the spandrels and the pediment, and the balconies with spirals and straight lines. The building was studied in 2008 by the French general heritage inventory (Inventaire général du patrimoine culturel) as part of the thematic survey of Art Deco heritage in Arras.
