Art Deco apartment house built for the diamond dealer Gustave Alexander to a 1929 design by the architect Léon De Vroey, whose name is inscribed; it is an early work, the architect having set up on his own around 1925. Semi-detached, of three bays, it has three storeys under a slate pseudo-mansard, with a sober cornice façade of red brick in cross bond, natural stone being reserved for the structural elements, on a bluestone plinth. Symmetrical in composition, the upper floors form over their full width and height a bow window, with worked breastworks, blocked copings and a typical corbel. The trapezoidal shape of the ground-floor windows and of the dormer is particularly notable; the wooden joinery of the door and the upper windows survives. The house contains three modest flats served by a shared entrance and stair hall with a skylight. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
