Maison Willemsens — Anvers

Art Deco corner house designed in 1929 by architect Art. Crosiers for the broker Leon Willemsens, on the corner of Doornelei. The five-bay façade, in red brick with natural-stone frames, quoins and ornaments on a bluestone plinth, draws an undulating movement from its succession of bow windows and culminates in a semicircular corner section. Carved floral baskets and medallions, spiral-pattern wrought iron and geometric leaded-glass windows belong to the Art Deco idiom. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
