Apartment building in a sober, functional ("zakelijk") Art Deco style, erected for the widow Béliard-Wittemans to a design by the engineer-architect Léon De Vroey dated 1937 by a façade stone. It contains thirteen flats and a caretaker's flat, and the inventory describes it as representative of the high-standing apartment buildings De Vroey designed in Antwerp from the mid-1930s. On a reinforced-concrete frame, the building has a basement and seven storeys under a flat roof; the façade combines yellow Belvédère brick, with recessed bed joints, with white stone, on a bluestone plinth. From the bel-étage upwards, the elevation forms a full-width bay with rounded corners rising from the first to the sixth floor, whose ribbon windows on continuous sills alternate with bands of stone. The double door and fanlight of the porch, and the wrought-iron cellar grilles with a geometric Art Deco pattern, by the K. Sleeckx workshop of Deurne, survive; the building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
