Built in 1928 by Émile Dickschen and René Collin on the site of the church of the Discalced Carmelite nuns (1755) — a section of its wall survives in the gable on the rue de Fer side — the Horman building mirrors the Motte building at the entrance to the Carmes district. Its five storeys of brick and cast stone are punctuated by bow windows and string courses, between Art Deco and eclecticism.
