Art Deco apartment building constructed for Marg. and Mady Pauwels to a 1931 design by the architect Alphonse Pauwels, originally comprising two flats and a shop with living quarters. The four-storey façade, faced with white natural stone (Brauvilliers) on a blue stone plinth, is articulated by drip mouldings with a chevron motif and dominated by a three-sided oriel with balcony rising over the two main floors. Discreet floral Art Deco ornament, a broad frieze with a lozenge pattern on the ground floor and the wrought-iron balustrade of the oriel complete the decoration. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
