Art Deco town house designed in 1929 by the Borgerhout architect Alphonse Pauwels for J. Van den Audenaerde. The red-brick façade with cornice on a bluestone plinth, enlivened by cement-rendered sections, is dominated by a three-sided oriel and a large gabled attic window with mock half-timbering, a cottage-style element integrated into the Art Deco design. The name "VILLA MARIA" appears above the door in lettering typical of the interwar years; the stained-glass transoms, the wrought-iron balcony railing and the original garden gate survive.
